"Can you have it today?" is probably the most common question we hear. The honest answer is: usually yes, but it depends on what, when, and how print-ready the file is. Here's a straightforward breakdown from our Kingston shop.
Almost always same-day (drop off before 2pm)
Black-and-white copies on 8.5×11 (any quantity we've ever been asked to run).

Vinyl banners up to 3×6 ft on 13oz vinyl.
Bindery jobs (folding, stapling, cutting) added to any of the above.
Next-day territory
Large banner runs, multi-panel signs, and any job needing outdoor drying time.
Booklets requiring saddle-stitch, spiral or GBC binding.
Wedding invitation suites (we want time to proof carefully).
EDDM drops (postage prep + Post Office cutoff).
Any job that arrives as a Word doc or a Canva screenshot instead of a print-ready PDF.
How to give yourself the best shot at same-day

Send a print-ready PDF. Fonts embedded or outlined, correct trim size, no low-res 72-dpi web images. Use our Send a File page.
Approve the proof quickly. A same-day job that's stuck waiting on a proof approval at 4pm becomes a next-day job.
Drop off early. Anything received before 10am has the widest runway.
Why a local shop can do this at all
Big-box copy chains route jobs through regional production centers. A South Shore business card order in Weymouth might physically travel to a plant in New Jersey and back. Our presses, cutters, and finishing equipment are 40 feet from the front counter in Kingston — which is why "same-day" is a normal Tuesday for us, not a special-order upcharge.
