How to export a Canva design for professional printing
The single biggest reason Canva prints disappoint is a bad export. Follow these six steps and your file will print sharp, edge-to-edge, with no white slivers and accurate color.
1. Set the exact final print size
Resize your Canva document to the exact finished size (e.g. 3.5×2 in for business cards, 5×7 for invites, 18×24 for yard signs). Don't try to scale later — sharpness drops fast.
2. Turn on print bleed
File → View settings → 'Show print bleed.' Extend any background color or photo 0.125" past the trim on every side so trimming never exposes a white edge.
3. Convert critical color to CMYK
Canva Pro: export as PDF Print → Color profile: CMYK. Canva Free is RGB only — we'll convert and proof, but bright blues/greens may shift. Send us hex or PMS for brand colors.
4. Export as PDF Print with crop marks & bleed
Share → Download → File type: PDF Print → check 'Crop marks and bleed.' That's the file we want.
5. Send us the file
Upload on our Send a File page or email info@weprinttoday.com. We preflight resolution, bleed and color, then email a proof for your approval.
6. Approve & print

Can you print my design from Canva?
Yes — we print Canva designs every day. Just export your design as 'PDF Print' from Canva with crop marks and bleed, then upload it via our Send a File page or email it to info@weprinttoday.com. We preflight every Canva file for resolution, bleed and color before we print.
What's the best way to export a Canva design for printing?
From your Canva design, click Share → Download → File type: PDF Print → check 'Crop marks and bleed.' If you have Canva Pro, choose Color profile: CMYK for the most accurate press color. Set your document to the exact final print size first — don't rely on scaling.
Does Canva export in CMYK?
Canva Pro can export PDF Print files as CMYK. Canva Free exports RGB only. We can still print RGB Canva files — our prepress converts to CMYK and proofs for you — but vivid blues, greens and oranges may shift slightly. For brand-critical color, upgrade to Canva Pro or send us a hex/PMS reference.
What size should I make my Canva file for printing?
Set the Canva document to the exact final printed size (e.g. 3.5x2 inches for business cards, 4x6 for postcards, 5x7 for invitations, 18x24 for yard signs, 24x36 for posters). Don't design at 'screen' sizes and try to enlarge them — quality drops sharply.
Does Canva support bleed?
Yes. In Canva, go to File → View settings → 'Show print bleed' to display the 0.125" bleed area, then extend any background color or photo that touches the edge into that bleed area. When you export, check 'Crop marks and bleed.'
Can you fix my Canva file if there's a problem?
Most of the time, yes. We commonly add bleed, correct resolution, swap RGB to CMYK, embed missing fonts and adjust trim sizes — usually free for small fixes on a paid print order. We'll email you the corrected proof for approval before printing.
What's the minimum order for printing Canva designs?
There's no hard minimum. We print as few as 1 yard sign, 25 invitations or 100 business cards from a Canva file. Pricing breaks come at 100 / 250 / 500 / 1,000 / 2,500 / 5,000 — ask for a tiered quote.
How long does it take to print a Canva project?

Can you ship my Canva prints, or do I have to pick up?

Do you accept Canva PNG and JPG files, or just PDF?
PDF Print with crop marks and bleed is best, but we also accept high-resolution PNG and JPG exports from Canva for posters, flyers and signs. For sharp text on business cards, brochures and invitations, always use PDF Print.
